Review: Aaibhe-Shee Queen by Claudy Conn

Aaibhe-Shee Queen (Legend Novella)Aaibhe-Shee Queen by Claudy Conn
My rating: 5 of 5 Hearts

ARC for Review ~ First off let’s begin with this an ADULTS ONLY read!
Wow Poor Conall!! I just finished this short story by Claudy Conn, it does give you a lot of info into the background of Queen Aaibhe (Ah-hibbe) and just how she became Queen. It also tells the story of a love so deep, one that can not be denied, so much so, that it sets into motion a series of events that had me glued to my seat.

Claudy has a way with her writing that is very crisp, clear, and easy to follow, wording it in such a way that you feel right along with the characters, putting you on the sidelines as the story unfolds.The characters are likable, believable, and furthermore, they are amazing to visualize.

The world building is awesome, imagine seeing something materialize with the simple move of finger, I really enjoyed this intro to the Legend Series, as I call it..

I recommend this to those 18+ due its sexually graphic nature and strong language.

About the Author

Emily Guido is a new Paranormal Romance Author. She was inspired to start writing “Charmeine” because one day she got an idea of two characters who needed to have their story told. Not ever dreaming a week later she would have over a 100,000 words written. When Emily writes, it is similar to you or I watching a movie. She pictures the characters in her head going through vivid descriptions of each scene. There are so many nuances going through her mind that she cannot type fast enough.

Emily is currently editing the second novel, in “The Light-Bearer Series,” “Ransom,” soon to be published in May 2012. Currently working at a College full time, Emily is pursuing her Master of Business Administration full time also.

Synopsis:

Can romance develop between a heavenly Light-Bearer and a hellish vampire Blood-Hunter?

Tabbruis is a Blood-Hunter, he drinks blood to survive. Over millennia Tabbruis has wondered the Earth alone aimlessly living through many historical events.

Charmeine just

 came to the Earth in 1997. Little did she know her destiny was to be Queen of all the Light-Bearers?

When Tabbruis meets Charmeine the attraction is immediate and passionate. They are polar opposites and clash together in a strongly romantic and dramatic way. When she meets Tabbruis, Charmeine’s powers as a Light-Bearer, one who throws lightning, is triggered and grows exponentially.

Charmeine and Tabbruis soon find out they were made by God for each other; however, on the day God cast Lucifer out of Heaven, they were split up by some mistake. Charmeine sacrificed herself to save her Tabbruis but they were sent to Earth as total opposites and in different times. Tabbruis never remembered Heaven, Charmeine or their child. Until he met Charmeine, he did not know he was the King of Darkness and destined to be her Husband on Earth as he was in Heaven.

Once Tabbruis and Charmeine proclaim their love for one another, they have to battle their way to freedom from the evil forces on Earth.

The Men of Charmeine

Oh My!! What a HANDSOME and SEXY group of Blood-Hunters we have here! I could look at them all day. SWOON

“Cross of Blood” Excerpt from “Charmeine” the First Novel in “The Light-Bearer Series”

One of my favorite scenes from the story!

Charmeine and Tabbruis hid in the bushes around the Formal Rose Garden.  Both were not talking.  Charmeine was lost in her reflection that a few months ago, her biggest battle was stopping little boys from fighting and telling children to pick up their Legos.

She thought while she was looking at Tabbruis their life would never be simple again even if they did go back to Long Island, so she could teach.  She was with him now, and their life together had changed into a bigger design.

Charmeine was a Queen and Tabbruis was a King!  Neither of them wanted it, but it had been laid on her by fate and God.

Self-doubt was starting to creep into Charmeine’s heart but she saw Tabbruis saying something to her and she snapped back into the moment.  She said very quietly, “I’m sorry Tabbruis, I wasn’t listening, what?”

Tabbruis said again softly, “This waiting might be for several hours.  Let us sit against the house and rest?”

Charmeine said, “Yes, that would be better.”

Charmeine and Tabbruis got up and walked a few feet and sat down next to the rose-bush crawling up the side of the Castle.  She said, “It is a shame this battle has to take place here.  This Castle has been like a home to me.”

Tabbruis looked at her and smiled, “You have only been here a few months.”

Charmeine nodded saying, “Yes but in those months I have learned so much and been through a lot.”

Tabbruis looked down and she saw him sighing becoming very solemn.

Charmeine continued, “No, you don’t know what I mean.  I fell in love with you all over again on Earth.  We were married here in this Rose Garden, and we have been a family here.  Our wedding in this garden was a beginning for us, I know it.  It isn’t the end.  I learned and been through a lot because this is the road God has put us on.”

Tabbruis smiled showing his beautiful teeth and his broad chin and his dark green eyes even sparkled in the moonlight.  He grabbed her and brought her close to him.

When Tabbruis spoke he looked as if he was going to cry, “Charmeine, no matter what happens tonight, we will always have our love.  I will love you always as I loved you in Heaven.  You, my Charmeine, are my prophecy.  I have wondered the Earth looking for you for thousands of years.  Now in this minute, a thousand more years can go by and never will I be happier than I am in this second.  I am not a man or a blood-hunter, but a Husband who has waited for his Wife to come home into his arms.”

Tabbruis took her face and held her chin while kissing her deeply.  Charmeine kissed Tabbruis back with all the hope and desperation she felt.

Charmeine pulled away from Tabbruis, she began to feel a little light-headed and said with a smile, “You mustn’t kiss me like that now Tabbruis.  You make me dizzy.”

Tabbruis smiled and looked at her beautiful brown eyes and blonde hair saying, “You have the same effect on me too, my love.” He felt her brown sun-tanned skin on her cheek.  Tabbruis gently put Charmeine’s head on his shoulder

Charmeine’s hand went over and picked a rose from the bush.  As she did, a thorn pierced her skin, and she said, “Ouch.”

Charmeine’s finger was bleeding, and Tabbruis said, “Let me heal that for you.”

Charmeine said with a far off look, “No, not yet.  Tabbruis, you know what my blood smells like right?”

He smiled dreamily of her luscious scent and said, “Yes, it is the sweeter to me than a garden of roses.”

She said, “I want to leave my scent with you Tabbruis.”

As if Charmeine was baptizing Tabbruis, she dripped blood on the back of his hands and made the sign of the cross on each of them.  He smiled and felt like he had, in fact, been baptized by her love and smelled the back of his hands.  He brought up her finger and put it in his mouth.  His eyes went black with want.  Charmeine seeing his desire felt it also.

Charmeine took back her finger and Tabbruis said, “I have never tasted anything sweeter than your blood.”

Charmeine smiled and said, “Just remember that my King.  You may need reminding of that later.”

Tabbruis said, “Always, always,” and he kissed her gently.

After Tabbruis took the back of his hands and put them up to his nose smelling her scent and said to Charmeine again, “Always.”

Emily has created a world of LOVE going so deep, the hardcore romantic within me can totally feel the characters emotions.Thank you Emily Guido for following your heart and writing his beautiful story and for allowing me the privilege to Read~N~Review it.

This book spans from Heaven to Romania, it is filled with emotions that will make you laugh, cry, and feel all of it right along with the characters. I was so upset at one point I wanted to throw my phone across the room saying, “OH NO, she did NOT just do that.”
The characters and their backgrounds are amazingly portrayed in this uniquely refreshing story.

The world created is original, breathtaking and consistent. Imagine yourself on a secluded beach on the Black Sea with your soul mate, or being in the middle of a battle between good and evil. It is chock full of tasteful romance and tenderness.

I recommend this read to anyone who wants a truly amazing read.

Betrayed by Morrigan Michele and Misty Carmony

Betrayed (Blood and Magick #1)Betrayed by Morrigan Michele
My rating: 5 of 5 Hearts

OMGosh What a treat, I thought this book was awesome! f

ARC for Review. I am so glad I had the opportunity to review
this first installment. I loved it!

Love. Lies. Magick. Betrayal. Alexis Allcroft is used to being different, but nothing could have prepared her for the buried secrets about to be revealed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OMGosh what a captivating story. Alexis has been living in the same small town all her life, but things are about to change. Everywhere she turns she smacks into a wall of deception. How frustrating is that?
Morrigan and Misty have weaved an awesome, yet, deceiving world of coming to terms with one’s own destiny. The twists and turns are so wickedly unexpected that I found myself rooting for Alexis the whole time.
The world is realistic in that being a small town, with it’s conservative attitudes, it is very believable. Hey coming from a big city to a small town myself, I can identify with that fact. The characters are well described as is their background, I found myself restarting it just to read it straight thru.
I recommend this series to Teens and up. It really is a wicked read! So ready for the next in this series..
Eyes of the Keep by Scott D. Muller
EYES OF THE KEEP by SCOTT D. MULLER. ARC for review… I love the cover on this book, so I agreed to review it after reading the blurb.. and here we go!
The mage wars culminated with the epic battle at Ror, where the last of the Dark Maji were finally defeated at a horrible cost. Fearing future insurrections, the magic races formed a Guild: an all powerful collection of autonomous members who ruled, guided and strictly inforced the Articles of Tofar. For sixteen hundred years, the wizards of the Keep followed the Guild’s rules. They remained secluded, didn’t dabble in politics and never performed magic in public. They withdrew from the world and occupied themselves with their studies, in part, out of fear of the of the Guild’s assassins. They had trusted in the wisdom of the elders; that if the followed the law, they would never again be forced to fight brethren. Perhaps they erred.
“Sum Licens Solus Fidens” I am only free without fear.” ~ Third Keeper of the Havenhold
Wow! This book is a fun and adventurous read, it is chock full of details, plots within plots, rich characters and backgrounds, and the world is unique, refreshing, and mysterious.
Three Magi, a unique and unlikely group, set off to check the Realms, after a mysterious explosion kills one of their own. Having stayed in the Keep for several hundred thousand years, they have limited knowledge of the real danger facing them as they hurriedly prepare for the journey they are about to embark upon.
Coming face to face with entities they have only read or heard about, opens their eyes to the reality of things. Cliff ~Hanger Alert!
Conceived in Darkness by Laura Shinn
Conceived in Darkness (The Darkness series: book 1)Conceived in Darkness by Laura Shinn
My rating: 5 of 5 Hearts
Prince Orekon is out of time and solutions. He must mate before before sunrise in three days or lose his throne.
Music is Kathryn Schaffer’s life and passion. When a strange man holds her captive from behind, Kathryn is momentarily terrified. Until his soft touch softens and he whispers words of passion and love in her ear.
Will she become his mate and open her heart to an unknown world?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When I saw the cover of this Novella, it was love at first site!
A well-written and fast-paced read! I like the way the author starts out with the urgency of Orekon’s plight, then BAM, Prince Orekon is grabbing Kathryn as she walks by, standing behind her, holding her in his massive arms, whispering sweetness in her ear, and finally calming her down. Grabbing me from the start, I could not put this down til I was finished. No cliffhangers and the sensual parts are clear and well written making for easy follow, there is even an interesting twist here too. * wiggling brows*

The characters and their backgrounds are believable, the world building is consistant, refreshing, and dynamically portrayed!
This is NOT a YA read, but a tender, inspirational and steamy little look into the Astovian world.
I recommend this book to all the Paranormal Romance Shapeshifter lovers out there!

The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter Part I by Jennifer Malone Wright
