Conceived in Darkness by Laura Shinn
My rating: 5 of 5 Hearts
Prince Orekon is out of time and solutions. He must mate before before sunrise in three days or lose his throne.
Music is Kathryn Schaffer’s life and passion. When a strange man holds her captive from behind, Kathryn is momentarily terrified. Until his soft touch softens and he whispers words of passion and love in her ear.
Will she become his mate and open her heart to an unknown world?

When I saw the cover of this Novella, it was love at first site!
A well-written and fast-paced read! I like the way the author starts out with the urgency of Orekon’s plight, then BAM, Prince Orekon is grabbing Kathryn as she walks by, standing behind her, holding her in his massive arms, whispering sweetness in her ear, and finally calming her down. Grabbing me from the start, I could not put this down til I was finished. No cliffhangers and the sensual parts are clear and well written making for easy follow, there is even an interesting twist here too. * wiggling brows*
The characters and their backgrounds are believable, the world building is consistant, refreshing, and dynamically portrayed!
This is NOT a YA read, but a tender, inspirational and steamy little look into the Astovian world.
I recommend this book to all the Paranormal Romance Shapeshifter lovers out there!
Thank you so much for the complimentary review, Wendy! I’m so thrilled you enjoyed the book. It was even more fun to write…
I do hope to write one maybe two more in this series then place all together for a print version. That’s the game plan. My original idea is for Kathryn to have twins who go to Earth and end up accidentally running into a group of nasty vampires…except for one, of course, who saves one of the twins. I’m hoping to write this one over the Christmas holidays.
I really appreciate the review, Wendy. It’s my first for this book!! *G*

We read the post of how God saved your life back in 2006. We are sure thankful that he did as it led to this wonderful compliment from you on this story. We hope and pray your health is much improved.
